I've read Titus Groan many times, Gormenghast twice (and not recently) and Titus Alone once, and I suspect that's a common pattern. Therefore, I warn you now, Peake is not a writer for everybody. Last week, I finished reading the Gormenghast trilogy. Nevertheless, I volunteered to do this, and cannot just go gentle into that good night.
